Got Scars?

February 20, 2011

Come visit me and we can compare. I finally came to the understanding that is is my duty to attend a Church to edify others even though I might be hurt. I am to serve God though those who serve themselves may seek to hinder that service. Somewhere there is a church where you can fulfill your duty, worship God and be edified, but it will not be perfect for the enemy has sown tares everywhere. Don’t let them be a stumbling block.

1 Cor 9:24-25
24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown ; but we an incorruptible. KJV

Some have made sports their religion and the stadium their temple. Gladiators without swords in a modern coliseum After all, men being paid millions to play a kid’s game is an interesting concept. I get no rings or money so frankly I don’t care.

To me, it is a grand waste of time and money. People will go into depression and will ridicule the losers like either side of fans had anything to do with the outcome.

If people would be as fanatical about Christ, His Church and His mission we would be turning the world upside down. So much effort for so short a glory since it may well be two other teams you dislike next year and this year’s win will mean very little . Remember fan is short for fanatic.

If half the effort, noise and expense were made for a Christian cause the people involved would be called fanatics and considered crazy. Some would call for their confinement while all the ballyhoo for such a temporal crown is considered great, normal and honorable.

If I am going to be called a fan or fanatic, I would rather be so about something eternal rather than a vapor that is relegated to the history books.

Just saying.

Purging Church Movement

February 6, 2011

What we need is not an emerging church movement for the Church emerged on the Day of Pentecost. What we need is a purging Church movement where we purge the worldliness from the Church that has emerged in the last hundred years but particularly the last forty or so years. We need no more isms, just back to basics.
First, let us purge ourselves and the Church of sins including that of worldliness.
1 Cor 5:6-7
6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: (KJV)
Second, let us purge ourselves and the Church of the vain babblings of foolish professors and scribes that use the wisdom of men versus the wisdom of God to create false doctrine; some of which is damnable! Be a Berean and study to be sure what your teacher is teaching is truth. Don’t be afraid to name names. Paul wasn’t
2 Tim 2:15-21
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. (KJV)
Finally, let’s purge ourselves and the Church of dead works that do more to appease the culture than please God Whom has called us to come out from among them and be separate. We are not to appeal to the culture groveling at their feet for acceptance rather we are to be standing as the ambassadors of a triumphant God that offers them the pardon of grace or the wrath of judgment.
Heb 9:13-14
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer
sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (KJV)
When we succeed in the Purging Church Movement then we shall see a mighty work of God in our lives, the Church and the World before He returns instead of the sorry movements of men that amount to nothing.  Maranatha!
